THEIR STORY

David and his brother Vundi joined our LFK family in 2014. We first heard about them through Katheka Primary School where they attend.

​

David is now 17 and his little brother Vundi is 11. They are actually 2 of 8 kids and they all stay with their mother Rachel. Rachel was married young and had 8 children. Her husband died in 2000 from a skin disease and she now raises all the children alone. Rachel is also HIV positive and is currently receiving medicine from the government.

All 9 people live in 1 small structures and divide the space by hanging sheets. There is no flooring for their home and they have no bathroom or kitchen. They do all their cooking outside. One of their biggest struggles is lack of food.
