HIS STORY

Sammy Mbelo was our very first orphan. Benson met him while walking through Kitui and immediately offered to help. Both of Sammy's parents died in 2009 and when Benson found him he had dropped out of school to take care of the house and farm the land. Benson gave him the initial funds to go back to school out of his own pocket.

Today, we are so proud of Sammy. He excelled at school and received a scholarship to attend Maseivo University in Nairobi, studying Computer Science. This past March he graduated and we made sure that some of our board members were in attendance.

Sammy has a great heart and visits Kitui often to encourage the rest of the kids in our group.

​

He is currently living in Nairobi and looking for work. We will continue to support him until he is able to support himself.
